14-Feb-10: The cancelled Christmas Fun Show will now take place on 14th Feb 10 - The Valentine Fun Show is for members of Tara Hill RC to come together and enjoy a day of fun and food at Kells Equestrian Centre, Carlanstown, Kells (please bring you own tea cup!!)
The fun will start at 12pm and we will have various prices in store.
One price will go to the best turned out horse and rider.
The Committee hopes to see you all there.

20-Jan-10: Wednesday night training has commenced after the bad spell of weather.
Classes are held as before each Wednesday at Kells Equestrian Centre in Carlanstown.
Members who have fully paid up are able to attend.

02-11-09: The 2nd of our annual winter talks - "Grassland Management" by Declan McCardle, Equine Advisor ex Teagasc.
Declan will give a talk on grassland management with specific reference to horses. 
Afterwards there will be a Q&A session. 
Start time: 7:30 pm sharp
Cost: EUR 5.00 (including refreshments)

26-10-09: The club has hired  Broadmeadow Equestrian Centre, Swords from 10am to 1pm for show jumping training for it's members. Kay will be there to teach us how best to walk and jump a given course and how to warm up your horse effectively.  
Estimated cost EUR 15.00.

19-10-09:   The 1st of our annual winter talks -  "Art Of Hot Shoeing" by  Robbie O'Hare is at Janet & Jeremy's house.
 Robbie will demonstrate the art of hot shoeing, followed by an informal talk on "all you need to know about shoeing, care of the foot, how to recognise problems and much more".  
Afterwards there will be a Q&A session.
Start time: 7:30 pm
Cost: EUR 5.00

Alternative, for members who don't wish to show jump, Coillte invites clubs to get involved in the National Trails Day. 
Coillte is inviting clubs to hold guided rides in any of  their forests in conjunction with National Trails Day. National Trails Day is being organised to encourage everyone to get out and enjoy the huge range of trails available across the country. 
You can either organise your own ride or participate in any of the rides organised by other Riding Clubs.

20-09-09:  Tara Hill RC wish to congratulate Sandra Carpenter  and Delphine Diamond  ("Darcy") on their stunning success being placed 2nd at Necarne International Horse Trials CIC* (click here for Final Results). 
Sandra started her cross country day  being placed 12th after her dressage (57.0). Darcy and Sandra went clear at the x-country and only accumulated 0.8 time penalties which moved her up to 10th place. A superb show jumping with zero faults meant Sandra and Darcy finished 2nd with a total score of  57.8 behind Stuart Crawford with a total score of 56.7.
Well done!

Ailbhe Gavin was 1st in the National Championships Intermediate Derby Class, and 6th in the National Championships Showjumping Class
Go onto the AIRC website gallery, the first set of pictures (click here for link) , are of the National Showjumping Championships.  Ailbhe Gavin is riding her grey pony, Robert, ( the one she rode in the EPS Qualifier (click here for video)) and is featured in the 3rd photograph, sporting a green Tara Hill saddle cloth.
We all wish Ailbhe a hearty congratulations, no mean achievement!! 

Sandra Carpenter was 3rd in the National Chamionships Open Showjumping Class and is going up to Necarne on Thursday, 17-Sep-09, to compete in the 3-day-event there.
Tara Hill RC wishes Sandra all the very best for a sucessful event.

14-09-09: The Club Committee has arranged a meeting for all members at Foxs Pub, Skreen at 8pm. 
The main purpose of the meeting is to discuss Wednesday night training and upcoming events & outings during the winter and spring time. Suggestions from members are most welcome on these topics.

13-09-09: Beach ride at Port Beach, Co Louth. We will meet at 12 noon. Click here for some pictures from our day out at the beach
